SLOW #5

The first version of SLOWFASHIONhouse visually looked like a physical department store and working with it was a bit like playing SIMS for adults. Every week I photographed flower bouquets and new window decorations and put it up on the site, we changed music and there was a new menu in the department store's cafe. The virtual world was so new that we copied the physical world to make the users feel at home.

At the time I worked with my erstwhile husband and a single employee and the conception was to work with co-branding; to let companies and brands lift each other and to allow smaller design companies to reach an international audience by offering an international sales channel combined with international PR.

The web as an international sales channel sounds quite obvious now, but at the time people almost thought we had invented the internet when we talked about the platform.

Later an online magazine came along, it was also built to copy the physical world and it was a flip-magazine. The magazine was the apple of my eye, and it allowed me to unfold myself even more as both a stylist photographer and a copywriter.
