I nummer 50 ligger verdens første grødrestaurant kaldet Grød. King Christian IV landscaped Kongens Have (The King’s Garden) in the early 1600’s partly for recreational purposes and partly as a kitchen garden belonging to his summer castle, Rosenborg. The garden has large perennial beds, a rose garden and several small and large sculptures. The garden can be accessed from several streets and the castle is open to the public. You can enter from Øster Voldgade, Sølvegade and Gothersgade. In Kongens Have you will find a small building called Herkules Pavillonen, which dates back to 1773, designed, in the neoclassical style. It was originally built as an annex to Rosenborg castle.
